![]() ![]() No other model can be more defined by special edition models or colors than the iconic Wrangler nameplate. 8.If you are a diehard Jeep® fan, then it is more than likely you are familiar with the brand’s finity for buzz models and colors.8-Speed Automatic 850RE Transmission (840).5-Speed Automatic W5A580 Transmission (289).If you actually want an extremely capable solid axle vehicle designed specifically for going off road pick a Wrangler. If you want a cool looking little SUV with an independent front suspension, and all that entails, wait for the new Bronco. If that’s not what you want, maybe you should look elsewhere. It’s so I have very few geographical limits. I bought this thing to go wherever I want, to have the ability to add things like a winch, a lift kit beyond 2” (good luck doing that with an independent front suspension) for hunting and camping trips. You’re paying for sealed electronics, the ability to spray out the interior, the Dana axles and everything else that you won’t see on a normal 4x4 SUV. Many complaints are actually highlighting what is good about the Wrangler.Īlthough the seats are surprisingly comfortable (I enjoy the lower lumbar adjustment) you aren’t paying for high end interior trim or “soft touch” materials. The “road noise?” Enjoy the light top that keeps the center of gravity low for off road tracks. The “vague” steering? Enjoy the benefits of that solid front axle. Even unmodified the Wrangler is more capable than anything else out there. These days there are no purpose built off road vehicles that are designed specifically for the most challenging situations. With that said, there’s … a lot of people griping about the cost of one of these things compared to other 4x4 SUVs. The lack of low end torque in this engine, especially with the manual gear box, is less than ideal. You don’t normally want an engine that comes into its own at higher RPM if you are off road. The 2-door Wrangler (Sport S trim, 3.6l, manual, with limited slip rear diff in my case) is really capable off road, though it’s not without at least one flaw: the engine. Take your business elsewhere unless you are okay with wasting hours at a dealership who clearly doesn't want to sell a vehicle. Well you are absolutely right about that! Do not waste your time even if you are local to this dealership because in Lucas' own words you don't need to purchase from them. He then proceeded to tell us that we didn't have to purchase from them. (And that came directly from financing when they explained why the car was selling for the price it was.) When I said this, Lucas rudely said "well you were lied to!" Wow so now apart from being rude and unprofessional, you also want to put in question the integrity of not one but 2 of your coworkers including the financing reps?Doesn't give a good look to this dealership at all. Uum as if this is my first time buying a car? I know that's a straight lie! Mind you, the car I was going to purchase was already considered used because the person it was originally sold to couldn't follow thru with the loan and had to return it after a few days and 500 miles later. However this time, instead of working with the same person in financing who was there earlier in the afternoon, we were met by the sales manager Lucas (who by the way gave me his card so that in his words I could "spell it right") Lucas then began to give us his explanation about how we could not drive away with the car because they needed to wait until their bank completely cleared the cashiers check from my bank and that they always do it this way. They requested a copy of my insurance information to make sure I had full coverage. When I returned in the evening (after driving an hour and a half again!) The process was supposed to resume. Had to leave due to a work meeting and spoke to one of the reps in financing and he advised that I could start the paperwork process and it would be ready by the time I would return in the evening to speed it up. Decided to purchase the vehicle, got the out the door pricing, let them know that I already secured the financing thru my own bank. Came from an hour and a half away to see a vehicle, we were assisted by the sales rep Jayson who was very professional and helpful. Only reason I would give it a 1 would be because of the awesome sales rep Jayson. I could give this dealership a 0 then I would.
